Application Submission Cost

• For Postal Submission: Candidates need to bear postal charges (Speed Post/Registered Post) for sending application to Port Blair
• Approximate postal cost: Rs. 50-100 depending on location and postal service chosen
• For Hand Delivery: No charges - candidates can personally submit during office hours at Sports Council office

Other Expenses

• Photocopying of certificates: Approx Rs. 50-100
• Photographs: Rs. 50-100 for passport-size photos

No Hidden Charges

• Sports Council does NOT charge any fee at any stage of recruitment
• No payment for application submission, physical tests, interview, or selection

Travel & Accommodation for Tests/Interview

• Candidates appearing for physical fitness test, coaching demonstration, or interview need to arrange their own travel and accommodation
• No TA/DA (Travel Allowance/Daily Allowance) provided by Sports Council for appearing in selection process
• Candidates should plan and budget for travel to Port Blair if called for selection stages

Age Limit (as on 15-02-2026)

• For Male Candidates: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 45 years
• For Female Candidates: Minimum 18 years, Maximum 50 years
• Female candidates receive 5 additional years (up to 50 years) compared to male candidates (45 years)
• This provision encourages women participation in sports coaching

Age Calculation

• Age calculated as on the closing date of application: 15th February 2026
• Date of Birth as per 10th class certificate or Birth Certificate will be considered
• No other document acceptable for age proof

Age Relaxation

• SC/ST Candidates: 5 years relaxation (as per Govt of India norms, if applicable)
• OBC Candidates: 3 years relaxation (as per rules)
• PwBD Candidates: 10 years relaxation (if reservation applicable)
• Ex-Sportspersons: May receive additional relaxation as per sports recruitment policies
• Domiciled Candidates of A&N Islands: Special relaxation may be provided as per local recruitment policies (check official notification)

Upper Age Limit Relaxation Rationale

• Higher age limit for women (50 years) recognizes that women may start coaching careers later due to family responsibilities
• Experienced coaches above typical age limits can contribute valuable expertise
• Sports coaching benefits from maturity and experience which comes with age

Important Note

• Age relaxation is cumulative for eligible categories (e.g., SC woman gets 5 years + special provision)
• Candidates must submit valid age proof during document verification
• Discrepancy in age will lead to disqualification
