Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Kolkata Region released notification for 42 positions including Medical Officers (Gynecologist, General Physician, Dental), Nursing Assistants, Dental Assistants, Lab Technicians, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, DEO, Clerks, Drivers, Female Attendants, Safaiwalas, Peons, Chowkidars across ECHS Polyclinics covering West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar. One year contractual (renewable) with Rs. 21,800 - 1,30,000/month remuneration. Last date: 18 February 2026 offline.
About ECHS
Introduced 2003 by Ministry of Defence providing comprehensive medical care to ex-servicemen, dependents, certain serving personnel. 400+ polyclinics nationwide offering OPD consultation, diagnostics, medicines, physiotherapy, dental, referrals to empanelled hospitals. ECHS Kolkata Region manages multiple polyclinics serving lakhs including retired Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard veterans and families. Medical: Specialist/MO Gynecologist (MBBS + MD/MS Gyn-Obs, 3-5 years, Rs. 90,000-1.3 lakh/month), MO General Physician (MBBS + 2-3 years, Rs. 90,000-1.1 lakh), Dental Officer (BDS + 2 years, Rs. 80,000-95,000).
Paramedical: Nursing Assistant (GNM + 2-3 years, Rs. 40,000-50,000), Dental Assistant (Diploma Dental Hygiene, Rs. 35,000-45,000), Lab Technician (DMLT, Rs. 35,000-45,000), Pharmacist (Diploma/Degree Pharmacy with registration, Rs. 35,000-50,000), Physiotherapist (B.Physio + 2 years, Rs. 50,000-60,000).
Administrative/Support: DEO/Clerk (Graduate + computer + typing 30 wpm, Rs. 30,000-40,000), Driver (10th + valid license + 3 years, Rs. 25,000-30,000), Female Attendant/Safaiwala/Peon/Chowkidar (8th/Literate + experience, Rs. 21,800-25,000).
Eligibility and Age
Qualifications position-specific as above. Medical posts need valid registration with MCI/DCI/State Councils. Paramedical need recognized diplomas/degrees. Support posts 8th to graduate depending on role. Age varies: Medical/Specialist 53-65 years, Paramedical 40-53 years, Support 53-70 years as on 01 April 2026. Higher limits for experienced/retired personnel. Preference to ex-servicemen and dependents with additional age relaxation.
