• Candidates are strongly advised NOT to wait for the last date to apply as server may be slow due to heavy traffic
• Apply well in advance to avoid last-minute technical glitches
• No application will be accepted after 05:00 PM on 09 February 2026 under any circumstances
• Technical support for online application will NOT be available after 05:00 PM on the last date
• All dates mentioned are tentative and subject to change at the discretion of NIT Calicut administration

Application Fee: NIL (No Application Fee) Good News for All Candidates:

• There is absolutely NO application fee for applying to NIT Calicut Apprenticeship Training Program 2026
• The application process is completely FREE for all categories of candidates including General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD
• Candidates can apply without any financial burden
• This makes the opportunity accessible to all eligible candidates irrespective of their economic background

Stipend Structure During Apprenticeship Training: The following monthly stipends will be paid to apprentice trainees during the one-year training period as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and amended rules:

Stipend Payment Terms:

• Stipend will be paid monthly through direct bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS) to the apprentice's bank account
• Payment will be processed by 7th of every month for the previous month
• Apprentices must open a bank account (preferably in SBI or any nationalized bank) and submit account details at the time of joining
• Stipend is subject to satisfactory performance and regular attendance during training
• No stipend will be paid for unauthorized absence or leave without prior approval
• In case of premature termination of training due to disciplinary reasons, proportionate stipend will be calculated and paid

• Access to NIT Calicut library facilities including e-resources, journals, and books
• Opportunity to attend workshops, seminars, and guest lectures organized by the institute
• Hands-on training in modern laboratories and facilities
• Mentorship from experienced faculty members and staff
• Certificate of Apprenticeship Training upon successful completion as per Apprentices Act, 1961
• No accommodation or hostel facilities will be provided; apprentices must make their own arrangements
• No medical insurance or accidental insurance coverage provided; apprentices may arrange their own if desired

Note on Stipend and Employment:

• Apprenticeship training does NOT constitute regular employment with NIT Calicut
• There is NO assurance of absorption, regularization, or permanent employment after completion of training
• Training is purely for skill development and gaining practical experience
• Apprentices will not be entitled to any service benefits like provident fund, gratuity, pension, medical reimbursement, or leave encashment

Important Age-Related Instructions:

• Age will be calculated as on the last date of submission of online application, i.e., 09 February 2026
• Date of Birth as recorded in 10th standard certificate or birth certificate issued by competent municipal authority will be considered as proof of age
• No subsequent request for change in Date of Birth will be entertained under any circumstances
• Candidates claiming age relaxation must submit relevant certificates (Caste Certificate, Disability Certificate, Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen, etc.) at the time of document verification
• OBC candidates must submit Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued in the current financial year (2025-26) to avail age relaxation
• PwD certificate must be issued by competent medical board as per Government of India format
• Upper age limit after applying all relaxations will be strictly adhered to, and candidates exceeding the limit will be rejected
• No age relaxation beyond the prescribed limits will be provided under any circumstances

Category-wise Reservation of Posts: Reservation of posts for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD categories will be as per Government of India rules and regulations applicable to the Apprentices Act, 1961, and as amended from time to time. NIT Calicut follows the reservation policy as mandated by the Ministry of Education and other competent authorities.
