Application Fee

• Preliminary Examination Fee: Rs. 100/-
• Main Written Examination Fee: Rs. 200/-
• One Time Registration Fee: Rs. 150/-
• Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Benchmark Disability, Ex-servicemen and Destitute Widows: No examination fee as per applicable concessions.
• Fee can be paid online (Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card) or offline at SBI / HDFC Bank / Post Office within 2 days from date of submission of online application, by choosing the option in the form.

• Date of notification issue: 28-03-2024
• Start of online application and fee payment: 28-03-2024
• Last date to submit online application and pay fee: 27-04-2024 (up to 11:59 PM)
• Online correction window: 02-05-2024 (12:01 AM) to 04-05-2024 (11:59 PM)
• Date of Preliminary Examination: 13-07-2024 FN (09:30 AM to 12:30 PM)
• Dates of Main Written Examination: 10-12-2024 to 13-12-2024
• Period for uploading scanned copies of documents: 06-09-2024 to 15-09-2024

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2024)

• Minimum age for all posts: 21 years (should have completed).
• Maximum age for most Group-I posts: 34 years (should not have completed).
• Maximum age for Assistant Commissioner (candidates with any degree): 34 years
• Maximum age for Assistant Commissioner (candidates with B.L. degree): 35 years
• Relaxations and community wise age concessions are applicable as per TNPSC rules. Candidates should refer notification for full details.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must possess a Degree from a recognised University. For certain posts, specific degree, subject or additional eligibility conditions may be required as given in the notification.

Physical Standards (for specific posts)

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Category I)

Men:

• Height: not less than 165 cm
• Chest: 86 cm (on full expiration) and expansion of at least 5 cm on full inspiration.

Women:

• Height: not less than 155 cm
• Chest and weight: not applicable.

District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services)

Men:

• Height: not less than 165 cm
• Chest: 89 cm (on full expiration) with minimum 5 cm expansion on inspiration.
• Weight: minimum 50 kg

Women:

• Height: not less than 155 cm
• Chest / weight: as per detailed norms in notification (generally not insisted like men).
