👉 What Happens After UPSC CSE Final Result?

Candidates who appear in the final merit list will now proceed through the following steps managed by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT):

  • Document Verification: Original certificates including educational qualification, caste certificate (if applicable), domicile, etc. will be verified
  • Medical Examination: Physical fitness test as per the service requirements (especially important for IPS, IFS)
  • Cadre Allocation: IAS, IPS, and IFS cadre/batch allocation based on AIR, category, and preference submitted in DAF
  • Training: Selected candidates will undergo training at LBSNAA (Mussoorie) for IAS / respective training academies for other services
  • Service Joining: Formal appointment letters and joining instructions issued after completion of training
⚠️ Important Note: Candidates marked as "Provisional" in the merit list must submit all required documents within the stipulated timeline. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of candidature. The final service allocation is handled by DoPT, not UPSC.
