APPSC TGT Recruitment 2026
The Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, Itanagar has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 dated 23 March 2026 for the Trained Graduate Teacher Examination, Secondary Level, for recruitment to 389 posts of Trained Graduate Teacher under the Education Department of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. This is a major teaching recruitment because it covers multiple school subjects, uses an objective written examination followed by viva voce and classroom teaching, and requires candidates to satisfy both academic subject criteria and professional B.Ed related conditions. The recruitment is for TGT posts in Pay Matrix Level 7, which corresponds to Rs. 44,900 to Rs. 1,42,400. The application is online only through the APPSC website and the application submission window is active from 26 March 2026 at 5:00 PM up to 27 April 2026 at 1:00 PM.

The total number of vacancies is 389. Subject wise vacancies have been officially notified and should be shown clearly in the UI because subject candidates search very specifically. The breakup is as follows: TGT English 36, Hindi 38, Political Science 28, Geography 29, Economics 25, History 21, Mathematics 35, Physics 73, Chemistry 47, Biology 28, Business Administration 6, Accountancy 6, Agriculture 10, and Horticulture 7. Out of the total posts, 84 are unreserved and 305 are reserved for APST candidates. The notification also states that 15 posts are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities, with subject wise PwBD distribution available in the advertisement. A clean vacancy table should therefore include the subject name, unreserved posts, APST reserved posts, total posts, and PwBD note where applicable. Candidates should be able to locate their subject within seconds without scrolling through low quality repetitive content.

The educational eligibility is more detailed than a normal graduate teacher summary, so it should be written carefully. The candidate must be a graduate with a minimum second class Bachelor degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a recognized university and must have studied the concerned subject in all years or semesters of the Bachelor degree program. The final year or final semester marksheet must contain the name and marks of the concerned subject. This point is extremely important, because candidates who hold graduation in another subject with post graduation in the concerned subject are not eligible for that TGT subject under this advertisement. The notification specifically states that such graduation plus post graduation combinations will not be accepted as eligibility for the particular post. Therefore candidates should check their bachelor level subject records before paying the application fee.

The professional teaching qualification is also clearly defined. The candidate should possess a B.Ed General degree issued by an NCTE recognized institute. Only General B.Ed is acceptable for teaching classes IX to XII as per the cited departmental letter. B.Ed Special Education is not recognized as an alternative professional qualification for TGT Secondary. The minimum duration of the B.Ed program is two years including mandatory internship in schools, although for candidates who were awarded the degree before 2015, one year B.Ed is also eligible. Candidates who have completed a four year integrated degree program with B.Ed General included are also eligible, subject to fulfillment of subject specific requirements. Students in the final year or final semester of Bachelor degree or B.Ed are not eligible to apply. The notification also states that each candidate is permitted to apply for only one TGT Secondary post, which means one subject only.

The selection process has three clear components and this should be displayed in simple exam language. Eligible candidates have to appear in a written examination of objective type followed by viva voce and classroom teaching. The marks breakup is: General English, General Studies, Aptitude and Pedagogy for 150 marks, Concerned Subject objective paper for 300 marks, and Viva Voce with Classroom Teaching for 50 marks, making a total of 500 marks. There is negative marking of one sixth mark for each wrong answer. Candidates should note that the written stage is not only qualifying but also a serious ranking stage before interview. The Commission states that the number of candidates called for viva voce will be about three times the number of advertised vacancies, subject to availability of qualified candidates and minimum qualifying marks.

To qualify for viva voce or interview, a candidate must secure an aggregate of 33 percent of the total marks in both written papers combined, with at least 20 percent in each individual paper. For PwBD candidates, the qualifying standard for viva voce is lower as per the notification: aggregate 20 percent in both papers combined, with at least 10 percent in each individual paper. After the written examination, document verification of candidates who clear the written stage will be conducted. Candidates must personally produce original and photocopies of the prescribed certificates, the admit card, and a printed copy of the detailed application form at the time of document verification. Failure to do so will lead to rejection for the viva voce stage. This is exactly the kind of practical guidance that should appear prominently on the page instead of vague copied wording.

The age limit is 21 to 35 years as on the last date of receipt of application, which is 27 April 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable as per orders of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The notification also mentions a one time upper age relaxation for specified general category and APST candidates born on or after the dates mentioned in the relevant government notification. PwBD candidates and regular Government servants of Arunachal Pradesh are eligible for age concession according to applicable rules and guidelines. The date of birth accepted by the Commission is the one entered in the matriculation certificate. This should be mentioned clearly because many users otherwise think a different certificate can be used later.

The application fee is Rs. 150 for APST candidates and Rs. 200 for other candidates through online mode only. PwD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. Before applying, a candidate must complete One Time Registration on the APPSC portal. Those who have already registered can directly log in using the same credentials. Only the highest Registration ID application will be accepted if multiple forms are submitted by the same candidate, and fee paid for one RID will not be adjusted against another. This is a very specific technical instruction from the advertisement and is worth placing in the how to apply section so that candidates do not create duplicate applications unnecessarily.

For high quality content and better page usability, this job entry should be structured in a teacher exam format: recruitment overview, subject wise vacancy table, eligibility, B.Ed conditions, age limit, fee, important dates, exam pattern, negative marking, interview rules, document verification, and official links. That presentation helps candidates compare their subject, prepare for the written exam, and understand that only one subject application is allowed. Since the recruitment is competitive and document dependent, candidates should read the full advertisement, verify that their bachelor degree contains the concerned subject in all required semesters, ensure their B.Ed is valid under the notification, complete OTR, submit the online form before the deadline, and keep printed records of the application. Interested candidates should read the full official notification before applying.
