The Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has released an official notification for recruitment to 205 posts under the Combined Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (CLDCE) 2026, Advertisement No. 02/26. This significant recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies for Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Driver positions in various departments and offices of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh through a merit-based departmental examination exclusively for eligible serving employees.

APSSB is the nodal agency responsible for conducting recruitment examinations for Group-C and Group-D posts in the state government departments. The current CLDCE is a departmental promotion examination designed to provide career advancement opportunities to eligible government employees already working in lower cadres.

Vacancy Distribution:

The total 205 vacancies are distributed as follows:
- Post Code 2/26 - Lower Division Clerk (LDC): 122 posts
- Post Code 3/26 - Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA): 14 posts
- Post Code 4/26 - Driver: 69 posts

These positions offer Level-4 pay scale of the Pay Matrix (Rs. 25,500 - 81,100 per month) as per the 7th Central Pay Commission recommendations adopted by Arunachal Pradesh government, along with other allowances like DA, HRA, and TA as applicable.

Eligibility Criteria:

For LDC and JSA Positions:

Educational Qualification: Candidates must be Class XII (Intermediate) pass from a recognized Board. The qualification should be from an institution recognized by the appropriate authority.

Service Requirements: This is a limited departmental examination, hence only serving government employees working in Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) category are eligible. Candidates must have completed the required minimum qualifying service in their respective departments/offices and their names must appear in the certified list of eligible candidates submitted by their Head of Department/Head of Office.

Age Limit: Not more than 45 years as on the closing date of application (25 February 2026). For candidates belonging to Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe (APST) category, the maximum age limit is 50 years. The age is calculated as on the last date of application submission.

For Driver Position:

Educational Qualification: Class X pass or ITI or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or Institution.

Service Requirements:
- Contingency Skilled Driver with Class X/ITI or equivalent qualification having 10 years of service in the concerned Department/Office, OR
- Handyman with Class X/ITI or equivalent qualification having 6 years of regular service in the concerned Department/Office

Age Limit: No age limit is prescribed for Driver positions as this is a promotional examination for serving employees.

Additional Requirements: Candidates must possess a valid Driving License for appearing in the Driving Test. The license should be valid on the date of the driving test.

General Conditions:

1. Candidate must be a citizen of India
2. Only those candidates certified as eligible by their Head of Department can apply
3. The educational qualification, service length, age, and category shall be determined as on 25-02-2026
4. Candidates serving in constitutional/quasi-judicial bodies are not eligible unless specifically permitted

Application Fee:

The application fee structure varies by category and will be notified in the detailed advertisement. Payment must be made online through the official portal using Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking. Fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Selection Process:

For LDC and JSA (Post Codes 2/26 & 3/26):

Stage-I: Written Examination (200 Marks)

Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) conducted in OMR mode with 2 hours duration:

1. General Awareness: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
2. General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
3. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks
4. Test of English Language and Comprehension: 25 questions × 2 marks = 50 marks

Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33% aggregate marks in the written examination

Stage-II: Skill Test (Qualifying)

Typing Speed Test on computer: 35 words per minute (equivalent to 10500 KDPH - Key Depressions Per Hour). This test is of qualifying nature only and marks obtained will not be counted for final merit. Only those candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for the skill test.

For Driver (Post Code 4/26):

Stage-I: Written Examination (200 Marks)

The written test consists of two papers:

Paper-I: Common Paper (100 Marks)
1. General Awareness: 10 questions × 2.5 marks = 25 marks
2. General Intelligence & Reasoning: 10 questions × 2.5 marks = 25 marks
3. Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: 10 questions × 2.5 marks = 25 marks
4. English Language & Comprehension: 10 questions × 2.5 marks = 25 marks

Paper-II: Technical Paper (100 Marks)
50 questions × 2 marks = 100 marks covering topics related to automobile technology, traffic rules, vehicle maintenance, road safety, etc.

Minimum Qualifying Marks: 33% aggregate marks in both papers separately (Common Paper and Technical Paper)

Stage-II: Driving Test (Qualifying)

Practical driving test of qualifying nature. Candidates must produce a valid Driving License at the time of the test. Only candidates who qualify the written examination will be called for the driving test.

Important Note: There is no negative marking in the examination. Final merit will be prepared based on marks obtained in the written examination only.

Step 6: Fill the online application form with accurate personal, educational, and service details

Step 7: Upload scanned copies of recent photograph and signature as per specifications

Step 8: Verify all details entered before final submission

Step 9: Pay the application fee through online payment gateway

Step 10: Submit the application and take printout for future reference
